Data Architect
**Role Summary**
Lead and design enterprise data architecture for financial services clients, driving data strategy, governance, and cloud migration initiatives. Collaborate with technology leaders, manage small project teams, and contribute to business development of data architecture services.
**Expectations**
- Deliver complex, agile consulting projects with high-quality data architecture solutions.
- Assume increasing responsibility for data architecture topics and team leadership.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across multiple programmes and business units.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in cloud data technologies and industry best practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and implement data strategies, solutions, and governance models.
- Align data architecture and strategy across programmes, work streams, and business units.
- Design enterprise data platforms using cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Develop data migration, storage patterns, and data lake designs for cloud environments.
- Implement data management platforms for cataloguing, classification, and metadata management.
- Design data privacy, security, and entitlement frameworks for cloud ecosystems.
- Advise on cloud networking architecture, operations, automation, and cost management.
- Lead small project teams and support business development for data architecture services.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical audiences.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience in data architecture, strategy, and governance.
- Cloud data engineering: model creation, migration, lake, and platform integration.
- Familiarity with contextual, logical, physical data modelling, and entity‑relationship design.
- Knowledge of data cataloguing, classification, metadata management, privacy, and security in cloud.
- Understanding of cloud networking, operations, automation, and cost optimisation.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and assertive communication skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and lead teams in complex environments.
- Interest in graph computing and semantic data modelling (preferred).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Cloud architect/data architect certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate) – preferred.
