Job Description
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse Degree Apprentice – Band 4 progressing to Band 5 **Role Summary:** A structured apprenticeship program designed for internal Registered Nursing Associates to advance to full Registered Nurse (RN) status. The role commences at Band 4 within a main outpatients setting and offers progression to Band 5 upon successful completion of all academic and practical apprenticeship components delivered in partnership with Leeds Beckett University. **Expectations:** - Complete a two‑stage interview process: a Trust interview to assess suitability for HDFT and a University interview to evaluate preparedness for the apprenticeship. - Commit to the full apprenticeship timeline, including clinical placements and university coursework. - Maintain current nursing competencies and NHS registration requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care in an outpatient environment. - Conduct patient assessments, formulate and implement care plans, and deliver evidence‑based interventions. - Document care, record clinical outcomes, and report within NHS audit and quality frameworks. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care. - Participate in continuous professional development, reflect on practice, and apply feedback. **Required Skills:** - Clinical nursing skills and knowledge of NHS care standards. - Critical thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities. - Effective written and verbal communication, and teamwork competencies. - Adaptability and commitment to ongoing learning and improvement. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current Registered Nursing Associate (RNAC) status and eligibility for NHS RN registration. - Enrollment in the Leeds Beckett Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship. - Completion of prerequisite nursing competency assessments and basic life support qualifications. ---
