Job Description
**Job Title** Systems Engineer **Role Summary** Design, architect, and document end‑to‑end satellite communication solutions. Translate customer and market requirements into comprehensive system specifications, architecture, and integration plans that encompass satellite terminals, NFV/SDN/cloud environments, and related hardware/software components. Collaborate with product management, sales engineering, and cross‑functional technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performance Satcom solutions. **Expectations** - Deliver technically sound architectures that satisfy business goals and customer needs. - Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date architecture and requirements documentation. - Proactively evaluate emerging technologies and recommend optimizations. - Provide timely technical support and clear communication to all stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Partner with Product Management and Vertical Markets to capture customer requirements and translate them into architecture and technical specifications. - Author and maintain architecture documents, system plans, and interface control documents (ICDs) for satellite terminals, hardware, software, NFV, SDN, and cloud‑based solutions. - Work with development engineers to define internal and external software interfaces, ensuring performance, robustness, and efficiency. - Participate in selection and qualification of new solutions and partners, contributing to sourcing decisions. - Support Sales, Sales Engineering, and other departments with technical insight and documentation. - Coordinate with Solution Leads to align global architecture and maintain coherence across markets. - Monitor trends and competitive developments in Satcom, edge computing, IoT, and related technologies. - Analyze opportunities to enhance or optimize proposed solutions and recommend action plans. - Report risks, status, and recommendations to the Solutions Development Director. - Produce clear, concise technical documentation and support hardware/VSAT integration when required. - Embrace Agile practices and related tools (e.g., Jira) to manage development and documentation cycles. **Required Skills** - Proven experience in systems design, architecture, and trade‑off analysis for satellite communications. - Deep knowledge of satellite technologies (DVB‑S2/S2x, TDMA, SCPC), antenna/RF integration, and VSAT network products. - Expertise in IP networking protocols and standards: TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, MPLS, IPSec, multicast, L3 routing, L2 switching, SD‑WAN, SASE. - Familiarity with NFV, SDN, cloud, virtualization, containerization, and cybersecurity principles. - Understanding of IoT ecosystems (plus). - Experience defining and validating software interfaces, outputting high‑quality technical documentation. - Strong written and oral communication; ability to present to engineers, managers, and customers. - Cross‑functional collaboration, Agility mindset, and proficiency with Agile tools (Jira). - Self‑motivated, ownership‑driven, with a “can‑do” attitude and risk‑assessment capability. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or closely related discipline. - Master’s degree (MSCS/MSEE) desirable but not mandatory. - 7+ years of industry experience in systems engineering, architecture design, and satellite communications. - Relevant certifications (e.g., CCSE, CCNA, Satellite Engineering) are a plus. ---
