Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Systems Engineer (12‑Month Fixed Term Contract) **Role Summary:** Lead the end‑to‑end systems engineering for safety‑critical aerospace products, manage system‑requirement analysis, feasibility studies, simulation models, and verification activities across the product lifecycle. Mentor junior engineers, support continuous professional development, and engage with stakeholders at all levels. **Expactations:** - Perform advanced analytical engineering tasks for complex, high‑integrity systems. - Deliver technical documentation for internal use, customers, and contractual obligations. - Mentor and coach junior Systems Engineers to enhance team capability. - Maintain regulatory and safety compliance within the aerospace sector. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct system‑requirements analysis and generate detailed specifications. - Produce complex technical documentation (requirements, design, verification). - Perform feasibility studies, trade‑off analyses, and physiological load assessments. - Execute simulations, analyses, and test‑matching using appropriate tools. - Develop new simulation models and innovative analysis techniques. - Design and develop safety‑critical software and system models. - Support system verification activities across the product lifecycle. - Coach, mentor, and support other Systems Engineers, including new hires. - Communicate with stakeholders and participate in IPT meetings, design reviews, and technical presentations. - Travel within the UK and overseas as required. **Required Skills:** - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and multi‑disciplinary engineering skills. - Proficient in systems engineering methods (including SysML/UML preferred). - Experience producing complex technical documents and facilitating design reviews. - Knowledge of software development and systems modelling techniques. - Excellent written and verbal communication; senior stakeholder engagement capability. - Highly IT literate and familiar with simulation/analysis tools. - Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Degree (2:1 or above) in Engineering, Science, or related discipline. - Extensive experience in aerospace or comparable systems engineering environments. - Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable.
