Associate DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Join a DevOps team supporting the Quantexa Cloud Platform, focusing on improving platform availability, resilience, usability, and security while reducing operational toil. Collaborate with software engineers to integrate DevOps practices into software releases and develop cloud‑native product features for customers.
**Expectations**
- Design, build, and deliver high‑quality, well‑engineered solutions to complex problems.
- Adopt a big‑picture approach, ensuring solutions integrate smoothly with the broader system.
- Demonstrate commercial or non‑commercial experience with programming, scripting, and automation.
- Apply strong information‑security principles in all activities.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintain and enhance cloud‑based technical infrastructure for the Quantexa Cloud Platform (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Improve platform availability, resilience, usability, and security; reduce toil across the estate.
- Support software release engineering and GitOps workflows with teams.
- Provision and manage services such as Elasticsearch, Spark, Hadoop, PostgreSQL.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD, and associated tooling.
- Automate configuration and deployment with Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and scripting languages.
- Monitor, log, and alert using Fluentd, Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager.
- Collaborate on the development of cloud‑based product offerings for external customers.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio.
- Scripting in Bash, Python, Groovy, Golang (or comparable languages).
- GitOps practices, ArgoCD.
- Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, Packer).
- Experience with Elasticsearch, Spark, Hadoop, PostgreSQL.
- Log/metric aggregation: Fluentd, Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager.
- Public‑cloud experience (primary GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Linux system administration and basic networking.
- Knowledge of software build and release engineering.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Professional certifications preferred: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Terraform Associate.
