Job Description
**Job Title:** Infrastructure Recovery Operations (12‑month contract) **Role Summary** Lead the management and optimization of isolated recovery environments within Group Infrastructure Services. Oversee capacity planning, patching, security, and automation to support application and service recovery testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory resilience requirements. **Expactations** - Deliver a fully operational, secure recovery environment that meets PRA Operational Resilience standards. - Reduce manual intervention and testing cycle times through automation and process improvements. - Provide clear documentation and training to build internal SME knowledge. - Maintain strong vendor relationships and timely resolution of technical issues. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Operate and maintain isolated recovery environments (servers, storage, network, virtualization). 2. Plan, schedule, and execute recovery tests for applications, coordinating with stakeholders. 3. Configure and update recovery profiles, monitor test execution, and validate results. 4. Apply patches, security updates, and perform routine capacity planning. 5. Engineer automation (Ansible, Python, scripts) to tear down recovery rooms post‑testing. 6. Integrate ServiceNow for change management and incident tracking. 7. Provide technical support during tests and liaise with vendors for platform issues. 8. Develop and maintain knowledge base, best practice documentation, and training materials. 9. Continually improve recovery processes through analysis, feedback, and strategy refinement. **Required Skills** - Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure: servers, networks, storage, virtualization (ESXi, vCentre). - Understanding of application stacks and dependencies on AD, DNS, NTP. - Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and performance metrics. - Strong security principles knowledge and disaster recovery architecture. - Capacity planning, proactive monitoring, upgrade/patch management. - Recovery test support: profile configuration, scheduling, execution, validation. - Automation tools: Ansible, Python, scripting, ServiceNow integration. - Excellent communication, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement mindset. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - Industry‑recognized certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent in virtualization, networking, or security preferred.
