Job title: Contracts Coordinator – Business & Legal Affairs, Animation
Role Summary:
Coordinate and administer contracts and payments for Above‑The‑Line (ATL) talent across Netflix Animation series, ensuring legal compliance, timely financial settlement, and accurate deadline tracking from development to launch.
Expectations:
Deliver high‑quality contract and payment administration in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment. Demonstrate self‑motivation, adaptability, and meticulous attention to detail while managing multiple priorities without compromising accuracy or deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review, evaluate, and execute contractual financial obligations for ATL talent (writers, producers, casting, voice directors, etc.).
• Prepare and file one‑time and recurring payment authorizations, coordinating with accounts payable and payroll.
• Apply guild minimums, PH&W rates, caps, and local tax withholding requirements.
• Track critical deadlines (development, option, hold periods, season extensions, reversion) and issue related notices.
• Maintain WGA tracking spreadsheets; liaise with writers’ room support and corporate stakeholders.
• Collect, verify, and archive payroll start paperwork for all ATL talent.
• Serve as primary contact for onboarding/offboarding talent and payment/ deadline inquiries.
• Curate electronic filing and updates to a shared contract database.
• Compile periodical payments and deadline reports for cross‑functional teams.
• Adapt to ad‑hoc projects beyond core duties as required.
Required Skills:
• 3‑5 years’ experience in contract, payment administration, or legal/business affairs within television, production, or law settings.
• Strong proficiency reading, analyzing, and discussing legal contracts with financial and production context.
• Knowledge of U.S. union labor agreements (WGA, Local 839, Local 399, etc.).
• Advanced organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
• Effective collaboration across Business Affairs, Production Finance, Payroll, Labor, Tax, Production, Post‑Production and Creative teams.
• Proficient with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Mail).
• Self‑driven, disciplined, adaptable, and ethical.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• No mandatory certifications required.
