Job Description
**Job Title:** Research & Development Scientist **Role Summary:** Design, optimise, and validate diagnostic assays for a consumer‑focused IVD platform, bridging laboratory science with product development. **Expectations:** Deliver robust, ISO 13485‑compliant assay workflows, contribute to risk assessment and validation, and collaborate across engineering, quality, and product teams to translate concept into verified products. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, execute, and analytically interpret experiments for assay development. - Iterate assay chemistry and protocols to maximise sensitivity, specificity, and robustness. - Implement and validate laboratory procedures in compliance with ISO 13485 and regulatory standards. - Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of experimental protocols, data, and conclusions. - Participate in risk assessments and contribute to validation documentation. - Draft technical reports and data packages for internal stakeholders and regulatory submissions. - Monitor scientific literature and emerging technologies relevant to assay development. - Improve laboratory workflows, processes, and documentation continuously. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as ELISA, Western blotting, and immunoassays. - Strong experimental design, data handling, and statistical analysis skills. - Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities. - Meticulous attention to detail and documentation excellence. - Ability to follow complex procedures while suggesting constructive improvements. - Clear written and verbal communication; effective collaboration in multidisciplinary teams. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field plus 2+ years industry experience **or** Master’s degree **or** Ph.D. - Familiarity with ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements for medical devices (preferred).
