Job title: DevOps Engineer
Role Summary: Design, deploy, monitor and operate scalable SaaS production environments using AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines. Lead IaC implementation, observability, and resilience practices for high‑availability systems serving tens of thousands of customers.
Expectations: • 3+ years of DevOps experience in a SaaS context
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (preferred)
• Proven track record of working with AWS PaaS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and IaC tools
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills
• Security‑first mindset and adherence to least‑privilege principles
Key Responsibilities: • Architect and maintain IaC for development, UAT and production using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads (ECS/EKS) and Kafka clusters with advanced configuration.
• Design and operate observability stack (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) and execute on‑call rotations to sustain SLAs.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) with automated tests and deployment to multiple environments.
• Identify infrastructure failure points, recommend solutions, and implement improvements for resilience and performance.
• Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering teams on technical strategy and code review.
Required Skills: • AWS services: EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, SNS, SQS, WAF, Parameter Store, etc.
• IaC & Configuration Management: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, Puppet (or equivalents).
• Container Orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, advanced networking, storage classes, namespaces.
• Messaging & Data Streaming: Kafka clusters, topic configuration, disaster recovery.
• Continuous Integration/Delivery: Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
• Operating Systems: Linux and Windows administration.
• Networking: TCP/UDP, firewalls, SSL/TLS, IP routing.
• Software Engineering Principles: design patterns, CAP theorem, event‑driven architecture.
• Security: least‑privilege, IAM best practices, vulnerability scanning.
Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (preferred).
• Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) (preferred).
