Job Description

**Job title** Legal Counsel **Role Summary** Provide commercial, regulatory, and operational legal support to the UK and global teams. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts; manage compliance with marketing, advertising, consumer protection, data protection, and other regulations; assist in dispute resolution and litigation; partner with business units to deliver pragmatic legal advice; enhance legal processes and build the legal function’s brand. **Expectations** - Newly qualified or 2‑year PQE lawyer. - Commercially minded with strong contract foundation. - Autonomously manage legal work, make sound decisions, and proactively identify risks. - Work closely with sales, marketing, creative, and operations. - Deliver clear, concise communication to non‑legal stakeholders. - Contribute to legal training, templates, and efficiencies. **Key Responsibilities** - Draft, review, negotiate supplier contracts, customer agreements, talent arrangements, and other commercial documents. - Ensure agreements align with business objectives and mitigate legal risk. - Advise on regulatory compliance: advertising, marketing claims, consumer protection, GDPR, and other applicable laws. - Monitor legal developments, assess impacts, and counsel on legislative changes. - Support data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR matters. - Assist with dispute resolution, complaints, and litigation; liaise with external counsel and coordinate legal strategy. - Partner with internal stakeholders to provide solution‑driven, commercial legal advice. - Create user‑friendly templates, guidance documents, and conduct internal legal awareness training. - Identify and implement improvements to legal processes, technology, and workflows. **Required Skills** - Strong contract law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance knowledge. - Ability to interpret legal principles in business context and balance risk with commercial objectives. - Excellent written and oral communication; simplify complex legal concepts. - Proactive risk identification, problem‑solving, and critical thinking. - Independent judgment and initiative; self‑directed task management. - High organisational and prioritisation skills; able to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. **Required Education & Certifications** - Qualified lawyer (UK, any recognised qualification). - NQ–2 years PQE. - No specific commercial law certifications required beyond legal qualification.
