**Job Title**: Capacity & Demand Planner
**Role Summary**
Analytical professional responsible for forecasting capacity needs, developing strategic plans, and optimizing resource utilization across production and facilities to meet demand with minimal bottlenecks and risk.
**Expectations**
- Deliver accurate, data‑driven capacity forecasts and scenarios.
- Align capacity plans with business objectives and cross‑functional priorities.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
- Maintain and improve planning processes, tools, and metrics.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design and implement a structured, end‑to‑end demand planning process.
2. Gather market intelligence, sales, marketing, and customer service insights to enhance forecasts.
3. Analyze historical data, market trends, and business projections to predict future capacity requirements for personnel, equipment, and facilities.
4. Develop long‑term and short‑term capacity plans, addressing potential bottlenecks and risk mitigation.
5. Build and maintain capacity models, simulating scenarios and assessing impacts of decisions.
6. Collaborate with operations, sales, finance, and cross‑functional teams to collect data, understand needs, and share capacity insights.
7. Monitor and report on capacity metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend data‑driven actions.
8. Continuously assess and refine capacity planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
9. Optimize resource allocation for peak season and ensure timely delivery of products or services.
10. Develop contingency plans to address potential capacity constraints.
**Required Skills**
*Technical*
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python or R.
- Experience with capacity planning software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong knowledge of statistical forecasting methods.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets for collaboration.
*Soft*
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication; adept at presenting complex information to varied audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated capability to navigate uncertainty, create structure, and make informed decisions with incomplete data.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree considered a plus.
- Certifications in supply chain or planning (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) are desirable but not mandatory.
