Job Title: Senior Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead end-to-end hardware design and development, ensuring project delivery within time, quality, and specification constraints. Drive mechanical design, qualification, and supplier collaboration across cross‑functional teams.
**Expectations**
- Deliver complex hardware projects on schedule, within cost and quality targets.
- Maintain rigorous qualification and testing standards for hardware approval.
- Communicate clear design intent to suppliers, internal stakeholders, and QA teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design mechanical components and assemblies in SolidWorks, producing 3‑D models, 2‑D drawings, and BOMs.
- Conduct design reviews, cross‑functional meetings, and maintain comprehensive design documentation.
- Collaborate with global suppliers to develop custom solutions and qualify off‑the‑shelf parts.
- Lead qualification programs, ensuring performance, quality, regulatory, and cost compliance.
- Manage project trackers, action items, and support PMO initiatives.
- Partner with product development, markets, supply chain, QA, regulatory, and operations.
- Secure product approval prior to technical sign‑off and communicate project plans.
- Provide technical recommendations and problem‑solving solutions.
**Required Skills**
- Expert SolidWorks proficiency (3‑D modeling, 2‑D drafting, surfacing, sheet metal, weldments, simulation).
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals: statics, dynamics, materials, manufacturing.
- Experience with FEA / CFD (preferred).
- Knowledge of GD&T and PLM systems.
- Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent communication, calm under pressure, multi‑priority management.
- Proficiency with Google G‑Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in English; additional languages advantageous.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Minimum of a good honours degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of product delivery experience in a matrix organisation.
- Relevant professional certifications in mechanical design or PLM are a plus.
