**Job Title** Head of Data Science – Advanced Analytics & AI **Role Summary** Lead the Data Science, Advanced Analytics, and AI function on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Deliver strategic direction and operational leadership to produce data‑driven solutions that unlock measurable business value. **Expectations** - Drive portfolio of data products through discovery to production. - Communicate insights to senior leaders and translate analytics into actionable decisions. - Maintain compliance with data governance, regulations, and ethical standards. - Foster an inclusive, high‑performance culture within multi‑disciplinary teams. **Key Responsibilities** - Prioritise and deliver data products that meet business objectives. - Collaborate with stakeholders across business units and influence decision‑makers. - Manage day‑to‑day operations of data science teams, including hiring, mentoring, and skill development. - Oversee relationships with third‑party vendors and external partners. - Apply MLOps practices to scale, deploy, and monitor models in production. - Mentor team members, promote best practices, and drive continuous improvement. - Ensure data governance, privacy, and ethical compliance across all projects. - Communicate complex analyses to audiences with varying technical levels. **Required Skills** - Deep knowledge of data science, advanced analytics, and AI (including generative and agentic models). - Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and relevant scientific concepts. - Proficiency in Python programming and machine‑learning frameworks. - Demonstrated experience in MLOps: model lifecycle, deployment, and monitoring. - Proven leadership of cross‑functional data science teams and mentorship. - Excellent stakeholder management, influence, and communication skills. - Ability to prioritise, deliver on tight timelines, and translate analytics into business value. - Resilient, self‑directed attitude with a “can‑do” mindset. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. - Professional certifications in data science, AI, or MLOps are advantageous (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, TensorFlow Developer, etc.).
