Job Description
**Job Title:** Marketing Development Specialist **Role Summary:** Lead Canadian market strategy, promotion, and launch of Ophthalmic Devices and Refractive Surgical Ophthalmology products. Partner with global and local stakeholders to deliver revenue and profit targets, support sales teams, manage KOL relationships, and ensure consistent messaging across regions. **Expectations:** - Achieve planned revenue and profit targets for assigned product lines. - Deliver successful product introductions, updates, and enhancements in Canada. - Build cross‑functional alignment, maintain analytical rigor, and adapt strategies to market dynamics. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and execute the annual strategic marketing plan for each customer segment. - Drive new‑product, next‑generation, and enhancement launches, ensuring global consistency and local effectiveness. - Manage pricing, inventory, quotation programs, CRM, and marketing budget; support forecasting and RFP processes. - Monitor market needs, acceptance, and performance through sales force contact, customer visits, congresses, and primary/secondary research. - Analyze sales data to report product and market dynamics; provide input for sales forecasting and financial planning. - Recommend pricing strategies based on market dynamics and competitive intel. - Deliver field sales updates, respond to point‑of‑sale queries, and facilitate sales training at training sessions, trade shows, and meetings. - Develop and maintain KOL relationships, manage contracts and consulting agreements. - Collaborate with sales leadership, global marketing, supply chain, operations, customer service, and finance. - Travel as required (up to ~25 %), including weekends and holidays. **Required Skills:** - 3‑5 + years of marketing/sales experience in the medical device industry. - Proven record of marketing and launching medical devices. - Strong analytical, forecasting, and ROI analysis capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency in group presentations. - Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers; multitask across cross‑functional teams. - Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; culturally adept. **Required Education & Certifications:** - BA/BS in Marketing, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field. - MBA preferred. - Relevant certifications in medical device marketing or sales are a plus.
