Job Description
Job title: Associate Data Scientist Role Summary: Support a data science competence team by developing, deploying, and maintaining machine‑learning models to solve business problems across the organization. Provide technical insight, collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, and contribute to the creation of a data‑driven culture. Expectations: - Deliver end‑to‑end machine‑learning solutions from data exploration to production. - Drive innovation by exploring cutting‑edge techniques (e.g., vision, transformers, generative AI, reinforcement learning). - Act as a bridge between data science and business units, ensuring models meet practical objectives and are continuously improved. Key Responsibilities: - Collect, clean, and analyze data to identify modeling opportunities. - Design, implement, and fine‑tune predictive and prescriptive models using supervised, unsupervised, and deep‑learning approaches. - Deploy models into production environments and monitor performance, ensuring reliability and scalability. - Collaborate with functional teams, domain experts, and IT to integrate models into business workflows. - Participate in setting technology roadmaps and identifying new AI use cases. - Communicate findings and model insights clearly to stakeholders in written and oral formats. Required Skills: - Strong foundation in machine‑learning algorithms (clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.) and statistical techniques (regression, discriminant analysis). - Proficiency in Python, including libraries such as pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and relevant data‑science tooling. - Experience with cloud‑based deployment (Azure Databricks, Azure ML, MLflow) is preferred. - Prior experience in supply‑chain optimization or market forecasting adds advantage. - Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive model lifecycle from ideation to production. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is an asset. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent with a data‑science specialization. - Minimum of 3 years professional data‑science experience. - Relevant certifications in Azure AI/ML or other cloud platforms are desirable.
