Job title: Product Security Engineer
Role Summary: Secure and harden product lines throughout the entire lifecycle, applying cyber‑resilient engineering principles to real‑time cyber‑physical embedded systems in aviation, automotive, medical, or defense contexts.
Expectations: Provide technical leadership on security architecture, threat modelling, and secure design; drive the creation and upkeep of security policies; ensure regulatory compliance and certification; foster collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and corporate functions; disseminate security best practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Secure Cyber Resilient Engineering (SCRE) activities, including architecture, requirements, design, integration, testing, production, and operations support.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, guidelines, tooling, and training materials.
- Manage security life‑cycle tasks: concept, design, qualification, production release, and support, ensuring adherence to frameworks such as the Risk Management Framework, DO‑326A, Secure By Design, IEC 62443, and others.
- Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses for embedded real‑time systems.
- Collaborate with government agencies, customers, suppliers, and industry experts to satisfy system and program security requirements.
- Provide feedback on systems security and resilience, advising on best‑practice implementation and continuous improvement.
- Communicate securely across cross‑functional teams (software, hardware, maintenance, manufacturing, corporate).
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (RIM, DO‑326A, ICA 62443, Secure By Design, etc.).
- Experience with model‑based engineering tools and integrating security considerations into system design.
- Proven knowledge of embedded, real‑time cyber‑physical systems (aviation, automotive, medical devices, or defense).
- Strong systems engineering mindset: ability to map complex system boundaries, interactions, and dependencies across all abstraction layers.
- Effective communication skills for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary, cross‑functional environments.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical, Software, Controls, Systems, Cybersecurity, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year of product‑security engineering experience or equivalent experience in systems, software, electronics, or manufacturing engineering.
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance.
