Manager, Engineering III
**Role Summary**
Lead the Global Money Movement (GMM) Command & Control Platform squad, driving the technical strategy for three core domains—Configuration & Management, Validation, and Transaction Requirements. Expand and mentor a cross-functional engineering team, partner with product and business leaders to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions on a public cloud platform.
**Expectations**

- Maintain delivery quality and enforce engineering standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Translate product requirements into engineering roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
- Set and evolve the squad’s technical vision while collaborating on broader platform strategy.
- Manage planning, resource allocation, and prioritization across squads.
- Balance schedule, feature set, and quality through sound decision‑making.
- Advocate for engineering excellence across the organization and represent the squad at company‑wide forums.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Lead cross‑team engineering efforts, ensuring alignment with product and business objectives.
2. Own the quality of deliverables, code reviews, test coverage, and deployment reliability.
3. Mentor and coach team members, creating a supportive learning environment.
4. Partner with product managers to clarify requirements, define milestones, and deliver on agreed objectives.
5. Define the squad’s technical vision, architecture, and standards; collaborate with other teams on platform vision.
6. Own quarterly objectives, resource planning, and reprioritization processes.
7. Drive technical writing, architecture documentation, and knowledge sharing.
8. Scout, interview, hire, and retain high‑quality engineering talent.
9. Represent engineering interests at organization‑wide meetings and communications.
**Required Skills**
- Proven leadership in a technical management role (1–3 years).
- Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture and cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands‑on coding and experience building scalable, customer‑facing services.
- Expertise in version control, CI/CD, and software development best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, startup‑style environment and make trade‑offs on schedule vs. feature vs. quality.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 1–3 years in technical leadership.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting and interviewing engineers.
- Experience deploying reliable, scalable applications on a public cloud platform.
- Hands‑on experience building customer‑facing products.
- Familiarity with version control systems and continuous integration processes.
