Job Description
**Job Title:** Telephony IP Designer (Freelance) **Role Summary:** Lead the design, architecture, implementation, monitoring, and support of IP‑based telephony and call centre platforms (Mitel/Unify, Genesys Cloud). Provide day‑to‑day configuration, quality‑of‑service tuning, security hardening, and incident resolution. Coordinate external vendors, manage KPIs, and contribute to cost optimisation. Contract is full‑time, 12 months, starting 1 January 2026 with a minimum of two onsite days per week at the Gosselies site (driving licence required). **Expectations:** * 12‑month freelance commitment, full‑time required. * Onsite presence at Gosselies at least 2 days/week; travel to site may be needed. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams. * Availability for occasional out‑of‑hours interventions. **Key Responsibilities:** * Design, document, and maintain IP telephony and call‑centre architectures (Mitel, Unify, Genesys Cloud). * Conduct integration studies, migrate, and evolve existing infrastructures. * Implement and support SIP security (TLS/SRTP), segmentation, authentication, and firewalls. * Configure and optimize call flows, extensions, routing, and QoS. * Perform monitoring, capacity planning, and tuning (latency, MOS, jitter). * Manage backups, patches, and software updates in coordination with Release Management. * Provide N2/N3 support: advanced diagnostics, incident escalation, and root‑cause analysis. * Train and mentor N1 staff on ticket handling. * Lead vendor management, run site surveys, and audit technical readiness. * Generate and analyze KPI reports (availability, performance, quality). * Support related services such as printing, multimedia, and SIM fleet management as needed. **Required Skills:** * Deep knowledge of IP telephony (Mitel, Unify) and call‑centre solutions (Genesys Cloud). * Proficiency in SIP, RTP, VoIP, routing, switching, SBC, VLAN, and QoS. * Security experience: TLS/SRTP, SBC, firewalls, authentication, segmentation. * Monitoring and tuning expertise (Grafana, Nagios, etc.). * ITIL‑based incident, problem, and change management. * Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.). * Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently in a freelance environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** * Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field (not mandatory but preferred). * Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP Voice, Microsoft Certifications, ITIL Foundation) are advantageous.
