**Job Title**
Solutions Estimator 1 (Fire Alarm)
**Role Summary**
Prepare and deliver accurate, detailed cost estimates for medium‑to‑large RFPs, greenfield projects, and complex scopes within the fire alarm sector. Act as a bridge between entry‑level estimators and senior design/estimating professionals, owning pricing strategy for programmatic accounts and collaborating across sales, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure estimates reflect true costs, resources, and timelines.

- Maintain industry awareness of product pricing, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks, propose value‑engineering solutions, and sustain profitability targets.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and share best practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Analyze project documents (specifications, drawings, technical scopes) to determine scope, risks, and deliverables.
2. Source and integrate pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and partners for labor, materials, and services.
3. Evaluate and refine scope gaps, risk factors, and value‑engineering opportunities.
4. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and procurement to ensure estimates reflect accurate resources and timelines.
5. Prepare professional, competitive proposals with technical details, pricing, and justification of value proposition.
6. Participate in site walks, pre‑bid meetings, and technical discussions to validate project requirements.
7. Track cost, margin, and risk metrics; adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
8. Ensure estimates align with company pricing strategies and market competitiveness.
9. Support programmatic and recurring customer estimating, maintaining consistency and scalability.
10. Assist senior leadership on large, strategic, or specialized projects.
11. Perform additional duties as required.
**Required Skills**
- 2–3 years of estimating, project management, or system design experience in electronic physical security (access control, CCTV, intrusion).
- Strong understanding of vertical markets (healthcare, data centers, government, education, finance).
- Ability to read and analyze construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and project collaboration tools.
- Knowledge of materials, labor costs, subcontractor coordination for physical security systems.
- Risk identification, value‑engineering, and profitability analysis capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proactive, continuous‑improvement mindset.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), Certified Commercial Builder (CCB), or equivalent are advantageous but not mandatory.
