**Job Title**: Staff Cloud Engineer H/F
**Role Summary**:
Lead design, standardization, and automation of the cloud infrastructure for a large‑scale SaaS/CCaaS platform. Own architecture, IaC, DevOps pipelines, security, compliance, performance, and cost optimization across multi‑account, multi‑cloud environments. Serve as the technical Cloud reference for DevOps and SRE teams, guiding architecture decisions and driving skill development.
**Expectations**:
* Full ownership of cloud architecture and operations.
* Strong technical independent decision‑making without direct managerial duties.
* Cross‑team collaboration with DevOps, SRE, CTO, and product groups.
* Continuous innovation and evaluation of emerging cloud technologies.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Architecture & Design
* Define global cloud architecture (infrastructure, networking, security, monitoring).
* Select managed services or IaaS/PaaS components.
* Design multi‑account and multi‑cloud models.
* Standardize hybrid network, service‑mesh and other architectural patterns.
2. Automation & Industrialization
* Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
* Automate deployments, scaling, and migrations.
* Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for cloud workloads.
3. Security & Compliance
* Implement cloud security best practices (IAM, encryption, key rotation).
* Contribute to ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA compliance.
* Drive FinOps strategy for cost control and optimization.
4. Performance & Reliability
* Enhance resilience with multi‑region, disaster‑recovery, and high‑availability designs.
* Improve latency and scalability.
* Deploy observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, logging, tracing).
5. Technical Leadership
* Act as Cloud reference for DevOps and SRE teams.
* Validate project technical choices with the CTO (architectural reviews, PoCs).
* Mentor cloud engineers and raise skill levels.
6. Innovation & Knowledge Sharing
* Evaluate new architectures (serverless, edge, confidential computing).
* Maintain an internal catalog of approved cloud standards and solutions.
**Required Skills**:
* Extensive experience designing and operating large‑scale cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP or multi‑cloud).
* Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or equivalent).
* Deep knowledge of networking, service mesh, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
* Strong security fundamentals: IAM, encryption, key management, compliance frameworks.
* Performance tuning, resilience engineering, and observability best practices.
* Familiarity with FinOps principles and cost‑management tools.
* Excellent communication, architecture review, and mentorship abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent).
* Certifications in security or DevOps (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CDLP, or similar) are a plus.
