Job title: Customer Quality Engineer Role Summary: Act as the primary link between customer quality concerns and cross‑functional teams to investigate field issues, determine root causes, and enforce corrective actions, ensuring product reliability and customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle. Expactations: - Serve as first‑line contact for inbound quality complaints from customers, dealers, and field service teams. - Demonstrate ownership of issue resolution, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders. - Apply rigorous quality methodology to uncover systemic risks and prevent recurrence. - Deliver actionable insights to engineering, manufacturing, and supplier partners, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Investigate and analyze quality incidents reported by external parties. - Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA) using tools such as 8D, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and SPC. - Develop, implement, and monitor corrective & preventive actions (CAPA). - Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and after‑sales teams to address identified defects. - Track, report, and trend customer quality metrics to management. - Support warranty analysis: review claims, classify defects, and prepare reports. - Provide technical guidance and training to dealer networks and service teams. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards. - Participate in product launch activities to pre‑empt customer‑facing quality risks. Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of automotive quality tools and methodologies (8D, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC). - Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with a structured approach to RCA. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence cross‑functional teams. - Customer‑centric mindset with proactive issue resolution. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. - Proficiency in using quality management software and data analysis tools. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience. - Relevant certification in quality engineering or process improvement (e.g., CQE, ASQ) is a plus.
