Job Description
**Job Title:** Vice President, Infrastructure Application Support **Role Summary:** Senior leadership role focused on second‑line production support for business‑critical Linux/UNIX applications, ensuring 24/7 availability, incident resolution, and effective change management. Provides stakeholder communication, on‑call coverage, and cross‑team collaboration to maintain SLA compliance and support continuous improvement. **Expectations:** - Lead a high‑performance support team and serve as the primary contact for stakeholder communications. - Manage on‑call rotations, incident triage, and problem escalation. - Deliver reliable service with minimal business impact, meeting all SLA and reporting requirements. - Champion process excellence, documentation, and knowledge sharing across teams. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide 2nd‑line support for CLS Linux/UNIX application services (production, UAT, dev, test). - Coordinate with Unix Application, Unix Infrastructure, and Unix DBA support teams. - Escalate and resolve incidents, problems, and faults; implement fixes and workarounds. - Maintain and upgrade application packages, following change‑management procedures. - Conduct Disaster Recovery testing, weekend maintenance, and release acceptance activities. - Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and service metrics. - Mentor and provide peer leadership to support staff. - Interface with external vendors and development teams to drive service improvements. **Required Skills:** - Extensive experience supporting critical applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). - Proficient with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, EKS, ECR, Workspaces, EBS, EFS, S3, RDS SQL, Route 53, VPC, CloudFormation). - Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ, WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat, and Swift messaging. - Strong command‑line skills and scripting in Shell and Python. - Familiarity with ServiceNow (ticketing, SLAs, incident/problem/change workflows). - Knowledge of ITIL framework (Incident, Problem, Change). - Ability to perform database queries on PostgreSQL and DB2. - Experience maintaining SSL certificates for ISVA/LDAP/WebSphere components. - Understanding of release management and deployment processes. - Excellent documentation and technical writing abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Prior IT operations experience, preferably in a financial services environment. - Optional certifications: ITIL Foundation, Red Hat Certified Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or related credentials.
