**Job title** Internship – Horizons 26 **Role Summary** A six‑week, full‑time paid internship (36 hrs per week) providing hands‑on experience in local‑government service delivery. Interns support council initiatives, learn project‑based work, and gain mentorship across multidisciplinary teams. **Expactations** - Attend all scheduled information and briefing sessions. - Commit to a 36‑hour workweek for the full six‑week term. - Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time. - Actively participate in team meetings and collaborative projects. - Maintain professional communication and uphold council standards. **Key Responsibilities** - Contribute to real projects that advance council services and community impact. - Collaborate with teams, managers, and leaders across council functions. - Prepare and present progress updates to project stakeholders. - Manage task lists, deadlines, and deliverables within agreed timelines. - Apply basic IT tools (email, Microsoft 365) to support daily workflow. **Required Skills** - Strong written and verbal communication. - Effective organisational and time‑management abilities. - Teamwork and collaborative working skills. - Openness to learning, feedback, and constructive guidance. - Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365 and standard office software. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum age 16 years or older. - Right to work in the UK. - No formal educational qualification required beyond age and work‑right.
