Job Description
**Job title** Commercial Buying Analyst **Role Summary** Provide data‑driven commercial insight to trading and category teams, supporting negotiations, vendor agreements, and cost‑saving initiatives. Analyze market data on commodities, currencies, and industry trends to validate pricing and recommend strategic purchasing approaches. **Expectations** * Deliver actionable purchasing intelligence that informs trade negotiations and vendor selection. * Challenge and improve existing procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost. * Foster cross‑functional collaboration with Category Managers, Finance Partners and Commercial Operations to achieve commercial outcomes. **Key Responsibilities** * Compile and analyze market data (commodities, currencies, industry benchmarks) to identify commercial opportunities. * Support negotiation teams by providing cost validation, trend analysis and strategic recommendations. * Advise on negotiation tactics and contracting strategies that secure favorable terms and reduce cost of sales. * Coordinate and facilitate workshops, create templates and standardize buying & vendor‑management procedures. * Monitor and challenge current buying processes, proposing best‑practice improvements and efficiency gains. * Build and maintain strong relationships across business functions to drive commercial improvement. **Required Skills** * Prior experience in buying, procurement or a commercial role at a sizeable organization. * Strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills. * Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data visualization). * Effective PowerPoint creation for stakeholder presentations. * Project management experience – able to drive initiatives to completion. * Collaboration mindset with diplomacy and initiative when liaising with internal and external partners. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) or equivalent commercial/ procurement experience. No mandatory certifications required.
