Job Title: Lead Applications Developer – Sales & Services Platforms (Remote)
Role Summary: Provide senior technical leadership and hands‑on ownership for Salesforce and ServiceNow within the Sales & Services ecosystem. Drive run‑support, change governance, and platform standards to ensure scalable, secure, and high‑availability solutions that meet enterprise objectives.
Expectations: Own application health, reduce technical debt, and deliver high‑quality releases while balancing speed and reliability. Lead cross‑functional teams, mentor staff, and enforce secure‑by‑design and compliance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain run‑support and change governance models (intake, triage, SLAs, escalation, problem management, release readiness, communications) for Salesforce and ServiceNow.
- Define and enforce platform standards: configuration/automation patterns, access controls, data definitions, environment strategy, documentation.
- Own platform health: proactively reduce defects, manage technical debt, and enforce disciplined operational controls.
- Direct run‑support teams, ensuring consistent incident/problem/request handling and customer service.
- Drive root‑cause elimination via monitoring, alerting, automation hygiene, configuration standards, and release controls.
- Maintain support documentation (runbooks, SOPs, knowledge articles, troubleshooting guides, release notes).
- Coordinate production readiness, hyper‑care, cutover planning, stabilization, and post‑release improvement actions.
- Govern enhancement and change backlog; prioritize work with BRMs/product owners based on value, risk, compliance, capacity, and dependencies.
- Facilitate decision forums to resolve trade‑offs, reduce unplanned work, and control scope.
- Translate business priorities into delivery plans (sprint sequencing, release train, defect/enhancement balance).
- Lead technical design for complex enhancements, automation, and cross‑platform workflows (Salesforce ↔ ServiceNow ↔ ERP/iPaaS/data platforms).
- Provide hands‑on development/configuration, define reusable patterns, review code, and coach teams to raise engineering maturity.
- Partner with InfoSec, Privacy, Compliance to ensure audit‑ready, secure‑by‑design solutions.
- Drive data quality, permissioning discipline, and automation governance to reduce operational risk.
- Improve observability and supportability of integrations (monitoring, alerting, logging, reconciliation).
Required Skills
- Salesforce development: Apex, Lightning components, SOQL/SOSL, Flow, integration patterns.
- ServiceNow development: JavaScript, server‑side scripting, UI policy, Flow Designer, integration.
- Platform governance, change management, run‑support, incident/problem management.
- Configuration management, release management, CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins/ArgoCD).
- Monitoring/alerting (Datadog, New Relic, PagerDuty), logging, reconciliation.
- Data quality best practices, data governance, permissioning models.
- Security principles, secure coding, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Integration architecture (iPaaS, middleware, REST/SOAP).
- Leadership, coaching, stakeholder communication, decision‑making.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Platform Developer II.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
- Optional: ITIL Foundation, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent security/compliance certifications.
