Job Title
Biomarker Data Scientist
Job Description
**Job Title** Biomarker Data Scientist **Role Summary** Lead statistical and data science functions for biomarker analysis across autoimmune clinical programs. Design and execute quantitative strategies, manage end‑to‑end biomarker statistics, and drive evidence‑based decision making in both forward and reverse translational research. **Expectations** - Act as the statistical authority for biomarker and multi‑omics data analysis. - Develop and implement robust analytical workflows that meet regulatory standards (ALCOA++). - Mentor and influence cross‑functional teams in advanced R, Python, and data science practices. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Own biomarker statistics for autoimmune and immunological trials; translate research questions into quantitative strategies. 2. Design and execute analyses (longitudinal, time‑to‑event, multiplicity control) and report findings to program stakeholders. 3. Analyze high‑dimensional data (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics); integrate modalities with rigorous QC/normalization. 4. Establish reproducible data analysis pipelines, including R packages, Git workflows, and cloud analytics platforms. 5. Develop biomarker dashboards (R/Shiny, Spotfire, or similar) and produce ADaM‑linked tables and figures. 6. Champion data reusability, metadata analysis, and reverse translation initiatives. 7. Contribute to regulatory submissions and meetings as a senior biostatistics lead. **Required Skills** - Advanced proficiency in R (Bioconductor) and Python for scientific computing/ML; SAS experience valued. - Expertise in biomarker methods (surrogate, diagnostic, prognostic, pharmacodynamic, predictive). - Strong statistical background: dimensionality reduction, feature engineering, longitudinal models, survival analysis, multiplicity adjustments, robust inference in high‑dimensional settings. - Machine learning experience (classification, clustering, regularized models) with MLflow/cloud workflows. - Knowledge of CDISC standards and ADaM. - Git, Databricks, Snowflake, CI/CD, containerization, and data engineering patterns for analytics readiness. - Excellent written and verbal communication for clear statistical reporting to cross‑functional teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.Sc., or equivalent) in Biostatistics, Biomedical Science, Bioengineering, or a related quantitative field. - Minimum 8 years of pharma/biotech experience in clinical development. ---
