Job Description
**Job title** Senior Manager, Data Center Security **Role Summary** Lead the design, assessment, compliance, and continuous improvement of physical security controls for Nscale data centers across EMEA. Ensure all sites meet ISO 27001, ISO 22237, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials Plus, NIS2, NCSC guidance, and customer‑specific requirements through site visits, gap analysis, remediation oversight, and operational monitoring. **Expactations** - Own the estate‑wide physical security program and maintain compliance with industry and regulatory standards. - Travel regularly across EMEA to conduct assessments, validate controls, and manage remediation activities. - Serve as the primary physical security expert for data center operations, supplier engagement, and audit support. **Key Responsibilities** - Perform structured security assessments of existing and proposed data centers using ISO 27001 Annex A, ISO 22237, SOC 2, and NIS2 criteria. - Identify gaps, produce gap‑analysis reports, and prioritise remedial actions with cost estimates and timelines. - Design and cost physical security solutions (perimeter fencing, access control, CCTV, zoning, intrusion detection, environmental sensors, visitor management). - Embed security requirements into new construction and upgrade projects per ISO 22237 design principles. - Manage local suppliers, integrators, and contractors across EMEA; coordinate installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing. - Maintain documentation, drawings, as‑built designs, and maintenance records in the DMS. - Partner with site operators and guarding providers to ensure staffing, monitoring, and escalation procedures meet security objectives. - Review incidents, access anomalies, and CCTV events; lead corrective action initiatives. **Required Skills** - Extensive experience managing physical security in data centers, critical national infrastructure, or high‑security environments. - Deep knowledge of ISO 27001 physical controls, ISO 22237 design requirements, NCSC guidance, and NIS2 obligations. - Proven ability to assess colocation facilities, negotiate remediation, and manage multi‑site upgrades across different countries. - Strong written and verbal communication; influence suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders. - Willingness and ability to travel frequently across EMEA. - Technical proficiency with access control and CCTV systems (Genetec or equivalent) is an advantage. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Security, Facility Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). - ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or equivalent security certification preferred. - Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent is a plus.
