**Job Title**
Infrastructure & Platforms Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead a cross‑functional engineering team responsible for the design, operation, and continuous improvement of core IT platforms (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, SQL databases, and associated networked systems). Ensure high availability, performance, security, and compliance while aligning infrastructure strategy with business priorities.
**Expectations**
- Manage people and platform resources effectively.
- Deliver on service level objectives, cost targets, and security compliance.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with senior stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to align infrastructure with business objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Lead and develop an infrastructure and platforms team.
2. Maintain 99.9%+ uptime and optimal performance for servers, virtual environments, databases, and networked services.
3. Set, monitor, and report on KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics.
4. Oversee budgeting, resourcing, vendor management, and license compliance.
5. Plan and execute IT change initiatives, platform upgrades, and service improvement projects.
6. Implement and enforce security, compliance, and operational risk controls.
7. Drive automation, infrastructure‑as‑code practices, and process standardisation.
**Required Skills**
- Proven leadership of infrastructure or platform teams in mid‑ to large‑scale organisations.
- Hands‑on expertise in Microsoft (AD, O365, Server OS), Linux, VMware/virtualisation, SQL databases, and platform services.
- Experience with ITIL processes, Agile delivery, and vendor coordination.
- Strong communication skills for engaging both technical teams and senior management.
- Familiarity with cloud (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of automation, scripting, infrastructure‑as‑code, and enterprise cybersecurity practices.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ITIL Foundation, VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) preferred but not mandatory.
