Job Description

Job Title: Senior Java Software Engineer Role Summary Senior Java developer in an Agile Scrum team, responsible for delivering high‑quality code for a flagship enterprise platform while mentoring peers and influencing technical direction. Works collaboratively in a non‑hierarchical environment with shared ownership and leadership. Expectations - Full‑time, permanent, hands‑on development with continuous impact on product evolution. - Collaboration across cross‑functional teams in a growing technology organization. - Support and guide junior developers and contribute to the growth of the engineering culture. Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and review maintainable Java code on large, long‑lived codebases. - Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (Scrum, backlog grooming, sprint planning). - Engage in pair programming, code reviews, and automated testing to ensure quality. - Mentor and coach less experienced developers; share knowledge and best practices. - Contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions, and improvement of processes. - Work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins) or equivalent. - Collaborate with product owners to refine features and ensure business fit. Required Skills - Extensive commercial experience developing Java applications in production. - Strong grasp of modern Java versions (JDK 11+) and object‑oriented design. - Proven ability to handle large or legacy codebases. - Experience with Agile delivery and collaborative development practices. - Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins) is advantageous. - Excellent communication, feedback, and constructive challenge skills. - Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in new domains. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - Relevant Java or DevOps certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Docker Certified Associate) are a plus but not mandatory.
