Job Title: Cloud Engineer – AWS & Azure
Role Summary:
Multi‑cloud engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and managing production workloads on AWS and Azure, ensuring security, resilience, and observability, and leading migration of legacy infrastructure.
Expactations:
- Provide 24/7 on‑call support on a rota.
- Pass enhanced security vetting.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to translate requirements into solutions.
- Deliver automated, secure, and scalable cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and maintain AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM).
- Architect, build, and maintain Azure services (Azure SQL, Entra ID, Azure DevOps, Container Apps, API Management, Functions).
- Migrate on‑premises infrastructure to cloud environments.
- Design and implement infrastructure as code with Terraform/OpenTofu.
- Automate deployments using CI/CD tools (Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps Pipelines, YAML).
- Script automation with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Containerize applications with Docker and deploy to Azure Container Registry.
- Configure observability tools (Datadog, Grafana Cloud, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Loki).
- Apply security best practices across multi‑cloud architecture.
- Engage in cross‑functional meetings to capture requirements.
Required Skills:
- Deep expertise in AWS and Azure production architectures.
- Proven experience migrating traditional infrastructure to cloud.
- Proficiency in Terraform/OpenTofu and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy).
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Containerization knowledge (Docker, Azure Container Registry).
- Observability & monitoring experience (Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Loki).
- Security fundamentals: IAM, Azure Entra ID, network segmentation, encryption.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.
- Ability to work 24/7 on an on‑call rota.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent.
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent (preferred).
- Terraform Associate certification (optional but desirable).
- Enhanced security vetting clearance.
