Job Title: Lead Product Data Scientist
Role Summary: Lead a full‑stack data science and software engineering squad to develop, deploy, and support production‑grade machine‑learning and optimisation products that enhance decision‑support for operational business areas.
Expectations: Own the entire product lifecycle from discovery, scoping, architecture, delivery, testing, to ongoing support. Deliver robust, scalable solutions that drive measurable business value while maintaining high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive end‑to‑end development of ML/optimisation products, from problem definition to live operation.
- Analyze business processes to uncover opportunities for decision‑support tools.
- Design scalable, maintainable modelling architectures aligned with integrated operations goals.
- Set delivery timelines, prioritize roadmaps, and manage dependencies across teams.
- Communicate product vision to senior stakeholders and secure alignment.
- Define testing, validation, and robustness checks for features and systems.
- Lead stakeholder sessions to steer modelling decisions and ensure delivery predictability.
- Manage change, including communications, training, and adoption initiatives.
- Oversee product support, bug resolution, and coordination with related teams.
- Embed agile practices: version control, code reviews, documentation, continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- Hands‑on experience with machine‑learning and optimisation applied to real‑world problems.
- Proficiency in Python and data‑science tooling (scikit‑learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.).
- Experience delivering production‑ready systems with logging, testing, and CI/CD.
- Leadership of cross‑functional squads covering modelling, engineering, and delivery.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Pragmatic, outcome‑focused mindset with a bias for business impact and delivery.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Several years of experience building or leading production‑scale ML/optimisation products.
- Experience in industrialised software development for data‑science‐driven products.
- Domain knowledge in operational, transport, airline, or network‑based environments is advantageous.
