**Job Title**
Head of Privacy and Data Protection
**Role Summary**
Lead the global Data Privacy and Data Protection program, serving as the primary advisor to the Board, senior leadership, and business units. Develop strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, embed privacy by design, manage incidents, and drive a culture of privacy across the organization.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a comprehensive privacy strategy and roadmap that aligns with business objectives.
- Provide expert guidance on GDPR, DPA 2018, ePrivacy, and other international privacy frameworks.
- Maintain and strengthen compliance across all jurisdictions and data handling practices.
- Act as the point of contact with supervisory authorities and manage regulatory inquiries.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Own and evolve the global privacy strategy, roadmap, and operational governance.
- Advise Board and leadership on privacy risks, legal developments, and strategic decisions.
- Conduct gap analyses, develop action plans, and track compliance progress.
- Draft, review, and negotiate data protection clauses in commercial agreements.
- Lead response to data subject access requests, data incidents, and breaches.
- Implement policies, procedures, and controls; ensure enforcement across the organization.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, cloud, and data teams to embed privacy by design.
- Educate and train stakeholders on privacy laws, internal policies, and best practices.
- Liaise with supervisory authorities and manage regulatory investigations.
**Required Skills**
- Proven leadership of global privacy and data protection programs in fast‑paced environments.
- Deep expertise in GDPR, DPA 2018, ePrivacy, and comparable frameworks.
- Experience advising senior leadership and boards on complex privacy matters.
- Knowledge of privacy by design principles for digital products and multi‑region cloud architectures.
- Track record managing data incidents, breaches, and regulatory engagement.
- Strong judgment balancing privacy risk with commercial objectives.
- Detail‑oriented with strategic vision for policy, process, and control improvements.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Relevant degree in law, information security, or related field.
- Professional qualification such as CIPP/E, PCdp, or equivalent.
