**Job title:** Senior Technical Writer
**Role Summary**
Create, maintain, and evolve high‑quality, user‑centered technical documentation for a developer‑facing, open‑source workflow orchestration platform. Deliver clear onboarding guides, advanced API references, use‑case articles, and integration tutorials, ensuring documentation supports rapid adoption and self‑service across a global developer community.
**Expectations**
- Deliver production‑ready documentation on schedule and in accordance with brand voice.
- Continuously assess and improve documentation gaps, workflow, and usability.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Product, DevRel, and Support to anticipate user needs and align content with product releases.
- Lead documentation governance, style, and quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Draft, edit, and publish structured documentation (quickstart guides, API reference, tutorials, case studies) using Markdown and a static site generator.
2. Audit existing docs, identify content gaps, and create roadmaps for remediation.
3. Work closely with engineering teams to understand new features, APIs, and technical concepts and translate them into developer‑friendly language.
4. Manage Docs‑as‑Code workflow: version control, branching, pull‑request reviews, and release coordination.
5. Review and merge community‑submitted documentation contributions, maintaining consistency and clarity.
6. Measure documentation impact through usage analytics, feedback loops, and adoption metrics.
7. Update and refine style guide to ensure tone is clear, friendly, and jargon‑free.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years of experience crafting technical documentation for developer‑centric products.
- Proficiency with Docs‑as‑Code tools: Git, Markdown, static site generators (e.g., Hugo, MkDocs).
- Strong grasp of APIs, JavaScript, JSON, and workflow automation concepts.
- Excellent written communication: structured, concise, warm, and accessibility‑oriented.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, product, and developer relations to iterate documentation.
- Ability to analyze user needs, conduct content audits, and iterate based on data.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technical Communication, Information Management, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- No mandatory industry certifications required.
