Job Description
Job title: Statistician Intern Role Summary: Gain hands‑on experience in critically appraising and interpreting complex statistical analyses, planning and performing clinical trial data analyses, and synthesizing evidence. Receive one‑to‑one mentorship from an experienced Statistics team, and contribute to publications, health economic models, and technology assessment submissions. Expectations: Recent graduate or current student in Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a related field. Able to complete a full‑time, 3‑month internship (extendable to 6 months). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and apply academic training to real‑world healthcare data. Key Responsibilities: • Critically review and interpret statistical results from clinical trials, observational studies, and aggregate data. • Design and execute statistical analysis plans for patient‑level data, including regression, survival and Bayesian network meta‑analysis. • Conduct analyses using R, Excel, Stan and BUGS, and verify output accuracy and assumptions. • Draft written summaries and deliver oral presentations of methodologies and findings to clinicians, manufacturers and regulatory stakeholders. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on value materials, health‑economic modelling and assessment submissions. Required Skills: • Proficient in R, Excel, Stan and BUGS; experienced with regression, survival analysis and Bayesian network meta‑analysis. • Strong statistical reasoning and data interpretation. • Effective written and oral communication in technical and non‑technical contexts. • Ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects and adhere to deadlines. • Basic project management and client‑centric service orientation. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related discipline; or current enrollment at a level that permits a full‑time internship. • Demonstrated coursework or experience with clinical trial data and advanced statistical software.
