Job Description
**Job Title** Calculation Engineer **Role Summary** Conduct advanced engineering calculations to support design decisions for gas compressor technologies. Develop and maintain analytical and numerical models for compressor and component behavior across varying gases and operating conditions. Perform mechanical integrity assessments, thermodynamic efficiency analyses, bearing calculations, and structural safety evaluations. Interpret customer requests for specialized gas applications and calibrate models to align theoretical predictions with real-world performance. **Expectations** - Advanced understanding of thermodynamics, structural analysis, fluid dynamics, and bearing mechanics. - Proficiency in Matlab programming for simulation and data processing. - Master’s degree in Electromechanical, Energy, Mechatronics engineering, or equivalent professional experience. - Professional English proficiency; additional languages are advantageous. - Strong analytical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to define boundary cases and operating scenarios. - Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and report directly to the Task Force Leader. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Perform thermodynamic and fluid dynamic analyses for gas compression systems. 2. Conduct mechanical, stress, strain, and fatigue analyses of critical components. 3. Perform bearing calculations to ensure reliability and longevity of rotating equipment. 4. Execute structural analyses to validate safety and robustness of assemblies. 5. Develop, maintain, and validate analytical and numerical models simulating compressor behaviour. 6. Analyze and respond to customer requests regarding special gas applications. 7. Calibrate models using data-driven approaches to reconcile theoretical predictions with actual performance. 8. Define relevant boundary conditions and operating scenarios for simulation studies. 9. Provide expert recommendations on calculation methodologies in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. **Required Skills** - Thermodynamic analysis (compressor cycles, gas properties). - Mechanical and structural analysis (finite element, fatigue, stress/strain). - Bearing design and wear analysis. - Numerical modeling and simulation (analytical and computational). - Matlab programming and scripting. - Data interpretation, calibration, and validation techniques. - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. - Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Master’s degree in Electromechanical, Energy, Mechatronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - No specific certifications required, but a proven record of technical calculations and model development is essential.
