**Job title:** Interim Chief Financial Officer
**Role Summary:**
Lead finance, legal, audit, and compliance functions for a hybrid for‑profit and non‑profit organisation. Execute a 12‑month transformation programme, including outsourcing legal affairs, implementing a new finance system, overhauling procurement, and digitalising reporting with AI‑driven budgeting and forecasting.
**Expactations:**
- Minimum 8 years of senior CFO experience in a growing, commercially focused business.
- Prior success delivering financial strategy, governance, and transformation at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to act as company secretary to a board of trustees and oversee legal entities.
- Ambitious, philanthropy‑oriented leader targeting future CEO responsibilities.
- Comfortable leading a 20‑person finance team and operating in a high‑performance, diverse environment.
- Commits to remote work with moderate national travel (≈1 week/month).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement finance structure and governance across multiple legal entities.
- Configure and roll out a modern finance ERP system; standardise processes and reporting.
- Lead procurement overhaul and drive digitalisation of financial reporting using AI tools.
- Outsource legal functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory and fiduciary duties.
- Produce accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Serve as company secretary to the board of trustees; support board governance and policy development.
- Manage audit relationships and oversee internal/universal compliance frameworks.
- Mentor and develop finance team to deliver performance and accountability.
**Required Skills:**
- Accounting and finance leadership at executive level.
- Strong knowledge of finance transformation, ERP implementation, and process optimisation.
- Expertise in legal and regulatory compliance for mixed‑mode organisations.
- Advanced proficiency with AI/analytics for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Strategic thinking, change‑management, and leadership in dynamic environments.
- Ability to travel nationally and work remotely while maintaining 5‑day weekly delivery.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
- Minimum university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in finance transformation, ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and governance (e.g., CGMA, Chartered Governance).
