Software Control Engineer

Job Description

Job title: Senior Software Control Engineer Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end design, development and commissioning of advanced vessel control and flight control systems for next‑generation foiling electric vessels, integrating reused software with new concepts. Expectations: Own the full lifecycle from requirements capture through to customer handover, ensuring timely delivery, quality documentation, and effective stakeholder communication. Key Responsibilities: • Design and deliver full vessel control and flight control systems. • Own end‑to‑end process: requirements capture → customer engagement → development → commissioning → documentation → handover. • Develop and optimise control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink. • Implement control logic in C and integrate sensors, actuators, and embedded systems. • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers. • Provide technical support, troubleshoot, and support sea trials and real‑world testing. Required Skills: • BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or related field. • Strong background in software control systems engineering. • Proven experience delivering complete systems or vehicles (automotive, marine, aerospace, special vehicles, advanced R&D). • Excellent MATLAB/Simulink capability. • Solid C programming experience. • Proficiency in system analysis, modelling, and simulation techniques. • Ability to engage directly with customers and stakeholders. • Experience in full lifecycle delivery—from concept to deployment. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BEng/MEng) in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or equivalent. • No specific additional certifications required.
