Job Title: Software Engineer - UK Role Summary: Bridge content and technology within the UX Content team by managing documentation repositories, automating pipelines, and ensuring scalable, high‑quality help systems. Serve as the central technical liaison across Development, DevOps, IT, and Content teams. Expactations: Deliver reliable automation, maintain CI/CD integration, provide Git support, enforce XML/HTML quality standards, and champion Docs as Code and AI‑driven workflow enhancements. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts to automate documentation tasks. - Implement and sustain automated documentation pipelines integrated with Git and CI/CD workflows (e.g., Jenkins). - Resolve Git-related merge conflicts, especially in XML files, and provide technical support to the content team. - Create automated tests and linting for XML/HTML to enforce consistency, quality, and accessibility. - Liaise with IT, DevOps, and Engineering to align documentation processes with system architecture. - Evaluate and adopt new tools and methodologies, including Docs as Code principles and AI‑powered solutions, to improve documentation efficiency. - Manage workflow tools such as Jira to streamline content approval and release cycles. Required Skills: - Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and task management. - Advanced Git expertise (branching, merging, conflict resolution; Bitbucket experience). - Solid knowledge of XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins). - Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities. - Familiarity with Jira and software development life‑cycle practices. - Preference for candidates with Docs as Code experience, CMS knowledge (MadCap Flare), and AI workflow integration understanding. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). No mandatory certifications specified.
