Job Description
Job title: Software Engineer Role Summary: Conduct verification and validation (V&V) of embedded software for safety‑critical defence systems, translating requirements into structured test cases, executing tests in a lab environment, and providing actionable feedback to project teams. Expactations: Deliver comprehensive V&V results, maintain accurate test documentation, support continuous improvement of testing processes, and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and execute test cases and procedures based on system requirements. - Capture and analyze test data, identify defects, and provide clear, actionable feedback. - Perform breakpoint analysis and focused code reviews to ensure quality and compliance. - Apply model‑driven design and test automation techniques to enhance efficiency. - Maintain test artifacts in tools such as DOORS, EWM, Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, and LDRAB. - Participate in safety‑critical system reviews and adhere to standards such as DefStan 00‑55, DO‑178C, and DO‑330. - Collaborate with hardware and software teams in a lab setting to validate electro‑mechanical products. Required Skills: - Proven V&V experience in embedded software environments. - Ability to convert requirements into structured test cases and procedures. - Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell, Tcl). - Proficiency in embedded C/C++ and/or Ada development. - Knowledge of real‑time operating systems and model‑driven design. - Familiarity with test automation methodologies. - Experience with safety‑critical standards (DefStan 00‑55, DO‑178C, DO‑330). - Tool expertise: DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, LDRAB. - Strong problem‑solving, data acquisition, and adaptability skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Certifications or proven knowledge in DO‑178C, DO‑330, or equivalent safety‑critical development standards (preferred).
