Job Description

Job title: Data Center Shift Engineer Role Summary: Responsible for maintaining and repairing critical mechanical and electrical equipment within a data center environment. Works day and night shifts, including weekends, to ensure 24/7 operational reliability. Collaborates with senior engineers on outages and projects, conducts preventive maintenance, and records all activities while upholding health and safety standards. Expectations: - Work 12‑hour shifts, including nighttime and weekend assignments. - Maintain a proactive, hands‑on approach to maintenance and problem solving. - Communicate effectively in English with team members and stakeholders. - Participate in continuous learning and training to advance technical competency. Key Responsibilities: - Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on data center mechanical and electrical assets. - Assist senior engineers with equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting, and repair tasks. - Support project work that enhances facility performance and reliability. - Record all maintenance activities accurately in logging systems. - Follow all health and safety regulations and promote safe working practices. Required Skills: - Mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge applicable to data center environments. - Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities. - Hands‑on maintenance and repair aptitude. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English. - Ability to work independently and as part of a shift‑based team. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. - Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., Engineering Degree, Diploma). - Health & Safety awareness (first aid, HSE or similar).
