In FY24 we manufactured 748m sandwiches and other food to go products, 125m chilled prepared meals, and 232m bottles of cooking sauces, pickles and condiments. We carry out more than 10,500 direct to store deliveries each day. We have 16 world-class manufacturing sites and 17 distribution centres in the UK, with industry-leading technology and supply chain capabilities. We generated revenues of £1.8bn in FY24 and employ 13,300 people. We are headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.

Job Description
Job title: Maintenance Engineer Role Summary: An experienced, multiskilled maintenance engineer tasked with fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of plant equipment in a FMCG/food manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include maximizing equipment reliability, ensuring production continuity, maintaining food safety compliance, and documenting all maintenance activities in an audit‑ready manner. Operates on a rotating 4‑on/4‑off shift schedule covering both day and night shifts. Expactations: Deliver timely and effective maintenance solutions; sustain accurate, audit‑ready documentation; proactively propose and support health, safety, and operational improvements; adhere strictly to food safety standards; collaborate with cross‑functional teams; continuously expand technical knowledge and maintain a proactive attitude towards learning and development. Key Responsibilities: • Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and planned/preventive maintenance on manufacturing, production, and packaging machinery. • Respond to internal customer requests, prioritising minimisation of production downtime. • Ensure all maintenance work complies with food safety and quality controls. • Accurately record and maintain maintenance logs, reports, and documentation. • Identify and recommend improvement opportunities for health & safety and operational efficiency. • Operate within a 4‑on/4‑off rotating shift pattern, covering days and nights. Required Skills: • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and diagnostic expertise. • Strong proactive, self‑motivated attitude with willingness to learn and develop. • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills. • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. • Ability to document and report maintenance activities consistently and accurately. Required Education & Certifications: • Completed accredited apprenticeship or equivalent experience at Level 3 (or higher) in mechanical/electrical engineering. • Relevant maintenance qualifications within the manufacturing/FMCG sector.
