Job Description
**Job Title** Railway Signalling Site Test Engineer **Role Summary** Planned, executed, and reported on validation tests for railway signalling systems on client sites. Works within the Installation, Test and Commissioning team to ensure on‑site tests meet technical plans, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. **Expactations** - Deliver complete test documentation and reports within agreed project timelines. - Maintain accurate and traceable records of test data, findings, and corrective actions. - Liaise with clients, design, and RAMS teams to resolve technical issues and verify system readiness. - Demonstrate adherence to safety, quality, and cost controls throughout the testing program. **Key Responsibilities** - Analyse incoming project data and develop comprehensive validation and test plans. - Draft and approve the test catalogue defining procedures, equipment, and acceptance criteria. - Conduct field or lab‑replicating tests, ensuring compliance with international signalling standards (e.g., ETCS, ERTMS). - Verify completion of all tests against design specifications and stakeholder expectations. - Prepare detailed test reports, highlighting results, deviations, and recommendations. - Interface directly with major rail operators (SNCF, Network Rail, Deutsche Bahn, etc.) to coordinate test activities. - Collaborate with development, study, and RAMS teams during design, validation, and commissioning phases. - Potentially lead a small test team, managing task allocation and progress against project milestones. - Travel as required to client sites, both domestically and internationally (including long‑duration assignments). **Required Skills** - Strong knowledge of railway signalling concepts and technologies. - Proven experience in site testing, validation, and commissioning of signalling equipment. - Familiarity with relevant standards (ETCS/ERTMS, IEC, ISO, etc.) and safety regulations. - Excellent documentation skills; ability to produce clear, concise test reports. - Effective communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary and multicultural environments. - Project management aptitude: controlling quality, cost, and schedule. - Ability to travel frequently and adapt to changing work environments. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field. - Minimum of 3–5 years experience in railway signalling testing or commissioning. - Relevant certifications or training in ETCS/ERTMS, RAMS, or railway safety procedures are highly desirable.
