**Job Title**
Junior DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Assist in building, maintaining, and scaling the tooling, automation, and cloud infrastructure that powers a computer‑vision product for precision poultry farming. Work under a Lead DevOps Engineer, collaborating with software, ML, and platform teams to support deployments, reliability, observability, and SOC 2 compliance.
**Expectations**
- 1 + year practical DevOps, platform, SRE or sysadmin experience (or equivalent strong personal projects, internships or open‑source contributions).
- Solid grasp of foundational DevOps concepts and a strong desire to learn and adopt best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, rapid‑growth environment, taking ownership of tasks and contributing to the evolving DevOps culture.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Deploy and manage AWS resources (EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Scale and manage Kubernetes clusters; support container build pipelines and resolve workload issues.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Argo CD); automate build, test, and deployment workflows, including ML model pipelines.
- Enhance monitoring and alerting stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Thanos); create dashboards and define SLI/SLO metrics.
- Assist in SOC 2 control implementation, audit readiness, documentation, and evidence collection.
- Participate in incident triage and response, learning SRE practices for reliability and quality.
**Required Skills**
- Cloud: AWS core services (compute, storage, IAM, monitoring); basic exposure to GCP/Azure.
- IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation.
- Container/SysOps: Docker, Kubernetes (RKE2), service mesh basics.
- CI/CD & Automation: Jenkins, GitLab, Argo CD, Ansible.
- Monitoring/Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Thanos, ELK, Jaeger, custom exporters.
- Scripting & Development: Python, Bash, basic command‑line proficiency.
- Source control: Git.
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing.
- Security: foundational knowledge of SOC 2, IAM, and compliance processes.
- Incident response mindset: logging, problem‑diagnosis, root‑cause analysis.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Professional certifications preferred but not mandatory (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or similar DevOps credentials).
