Job title: Senior Cloud System Administrator
Role Summary: Own and optimize hybrid cloud and virtualized infrastructure, lead design and automation of new services, and mentor junior staff.
Expectations: Deliver scalable, secure, and efficient AWS, Azure, and VMware environments; drive technical excellence in IaC and monitoring; maintain rigorous compliance and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and tune cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and private VMware platforms.
- Lead technical implementation of infrastructure projects: design, build, deployment, and automation.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Ansible.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning for cloud and virtualized systems.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and apply long‑term fixes.
- Collaborate with architects and security teams on governance, compliance, and security controls.
- Document system architectures, procedures, best practices, and knowledge base articles.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior system administrators.
Required Skills
- 7+ years systems administration, 3–5+ years cloud‑focused.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP services, including networking, IAM, and security.
- VMware Cloud Foundation/Aria Suite experience managing virtualized environments.
- Proficient scripting: PowerShell, Python, Terraform.
- System monitoring and performance tuning (e.g., Centreon, Grafana).
- Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred certifications: AWS SysOps Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
- Additional preferred: CI/CD pipeline knowledge, DevOps workflow familiarity, Docker/Kubernetes exposure.
