Job Title: Cisco ACI Automation & Network Scripting Specialist
Role Summary:
Design, implement, and manage large‑scale Cisco ACI fabrics across multi‑site environments. Develop and maintain automation workflows and infrastructure‑as‑code solutions to optimise network operations and enable policy‑based SDN deployments.
Expectations:
- Deliver scalable ACI solutions for enterprise or regulated data centre environments.
- Implement automation pipelines and CI/CD for network configuration.
- Adhere to security, compliance, and architectural standards.
- Drive continuous improvement by adopting new ACI and SDN technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure tenants, VRFs, EPGs, contracts, L3Outs, multipods, and APIC clusters.
- Perform root‑cause analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of SDN environments.
- Create lifecycle automation for ACI policies using Python, Ansible, Bash, Terraform, or similar tools.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deploy‑and‑validate of network changes.
- Produce operational documentation, design diagrams, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, and platform teams to integrate ACI into the broader technology stack.
- Evaluate and pilot new Cisco ACI features, SDN tools, and automation frameworks.
- Reduce manual effort through reusable templates and automation best practices.
Required Skills:
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco ACI, APIC, and multi‑site SDN architectures.
- Proficiency with Python, YAML, JSON, REST APIs, and Cisco ACI Toolkit/Cobra SDK.
- Expertise in automation tools such as Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, MPLS, L2/L3 switching and routing.
- Security policy, segmentation, and firewall fundamentals.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex, mission‑critical network issues.
- Familiarity with monitoring platforms (Splunk, Grafana, ACI Health Score).
- Experience in large‑scale or regulated enterprise environments preferred.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- CCNP/CCIE, DevNet Professional/Expert, or equivalent certifications highly desirable.
- Cloud networking certifications (AWS, Azure) and experience automating Nexus or next‑generation firewalls/F5 load balancers are additional advantages.
