Job title: Infrastructure Remediation Engineer
Role Summary:
Provide proactive remediation of security and configuration issues in Windows‑based infrastructure. Analyze health‑check findings, engineer patches and hardening measures, and automate solutions with PowerShell (or Bash/Python). Produce clear guidance for delivery teams and maintain documentation to enable repeatable remediation across environments.
Expectations:
- Work 3 days a week; maintain a high standard of technical security hygiene.
- Deliver prompt, measurable remediation outcomes and maintain compliance with regulated environments.
- Communicate effectively across multi‑disciplinary teams and keep all stakeholders informed.
- Support ongoing baseline development and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review vulnerability scans, health‑check reports, and assessment outputs; translate findings into actionable remediation tasks.
- Execute patching, configuration hardening, and certificate/TLS updates on Windows Server, DNS, and load‑balancer platforms.
- Create, test, and maintain remediation scripts (PowerShell preferred, Bash/Python accepted).
- Document remediation procedures, runbooks, and change justification.
- Collaborate with security, network, and operations teams to ensure solutions are integrated and compliant with enterprise standards.
- Assist in establishing CIS‑style hardening baselines, GPO guidelines, and golden image processes.
- Participate in vulnerability management workflows (e.g., Tenable/Qualys) when needed.
Required Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting of infrastructure and application problems.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server administration, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, certificates, and load‑balancer fundamentals.
- Proven experience in patching, hardening, and configuration remediation.
- Ability to interpret assessment and scanner outputs and prioritize remediation.
- Proficiency in scripting/automation (PowerShell required; Bash/Python desirable).
- Excellent technical documentation and written communication.
- Existing Active Security Clearance (“Active SC”).
- Comfortable working across multiple teams in regulated, change‑controlled environments.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Relevant certifications preferred: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, CISSP, or equivalent security/administration credentials.
