Job Description
**Job Title** Application Architect – Azure **Role Summary** Lead the design and execution of migrating enterprise applications from on‑premises to Azure. Shape architecture, ensure scalability, performance, and security while driving cloud‑first strategy across the organization. **Expectations** - Demonstrate proven expertise in Azure migration projects. - Align architectural decisions with business goals, compliance, and cost objectives. - Collaborate cross‑functionally with developers, operations, security, and business stakeholders. - Support continuous delivery pipelines and advocate for automation and DevOps best practices. **Key Responsibilities** - Architect end‑to‑end migration plans, including assessment of existing workloads and selection of appropriate Azure services (VMs, AKS, Azure SQL, App Service, etc.). - Define and enforce Azure Landing Zone principles, governance, and security controls. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerised environments (Docker), and orchestrated services (AKS). - Optimize cloud cost and performance; develop monitoring, alerting, and resilience strategies. - Mentor and coach development and operations teams on cloud practices and tools. - Produce architectural documentation, migration roadmaps, and technical specifications. - Participate in incident post‑mortems and continuous improvement initiatives. **Required Skills** - Deep knowledge of Azure infrastructure: VM's, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure SQL, App Service. - Strong experience with Docker, container orchestration, and micro‑services architecture. - Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design (Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or similar). - Familiarity with Azure Landing Zones, policy‑based governance, and cost‑management tools. - Solid understanding of security, identity, and access management on Azure. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. - Ability to produce clear technical documentation and architectural diagrams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - Minimum 5+ years in enterprise cloud architecture or a related role. - Microsoft Azure certifications preferred: - Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-303 / AZ-304 or equivalent) - Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) ---
