**Job title:** Senior Machine Learning Developer
**Role summary:**
Lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI/ML models that protect users from evolving security threats within Elastic’s security products. Drive end‑to‑end MLOps pipelines, collaborate across data science, engineering, and security teams, and ensure models remain accurate, observable, and reproducible.
**Expectations:**
- Work remotely in a fully distributed environment.
- Communicate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Deliver production‑ready ML solutions with strong testing, monitoring, and retraining capabilities.
**Key responsibilities:**
- Design, implement, and maintain automated ML pipelines (training, testing, deployment, and monitoring).
- Enhance data quality, model training automation, and reproducibility.
- Monitor deployed models for performance drift, plan and execute retraining cycles.
- Leverage implicit/explicit feedback to improve model accuracy.
- Collaborate with Data Science and Data Engineering teams on feature engineering and data validation.
- Conduct code reviews, provide and receive constructive feedback.
**Required skills:**
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑Learn, etc.).
- Strong unit, integration, and regression testing experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
- Hands‑on with CI/CD tools (Airflow, Buildkite, or equivalent).
- Ability to perform data analysis to support data quality decisions.
- Excellent communication in a remote, multicultural setting.
**Preferred (bonus) skills:**
- Background in cybersecurity or threat intelligence.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Knowledge of deep learning, clustering, graph algorithms, or similar advanced ML techniques.
- Designing, training, and evaluating models using popular ML frameworks.
**Required education & certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, GCP ML Engineer) are advantageous but not mandatory.
