Job Description

Job title: Electrical Design Engineer Intern Role Summary: Internship focused on support of electrical and mechanical design activities for projects, applying British/IEC ENA standards and industry software under senior engineer guidance. Expectations: - Convert into mechanical and electrical drawings aligning with project specs and ENA/IEC rules. - Provide best‑value design ideas with guidance, and support design leads through all phases. - Conduct technical reviews, identify issues, and propose solutions. - Maintain accuracy, meet design timelines, and support cost management. - Uphold all relevant regulations (CDM 2015, Electrical Safety, building/wiring law) and ensure legal compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Draft/modify drawings in AutoCAD, CYMCAP, DigSilent Power Factory, PLS CAD, CDEGS. - Assist in preparing design deliverables and supporting documentation. - Attend project meetings, coordinate with operational and project teams. - Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and cost estimation. - Manage design-related documentation and ensure version control. Required Skills: - Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and any listed design software. - Strong written and verbal communication, ability to explain technical concepts. - Organizational skills, time‑management, ability to follow instructions under pressure. - Autonomy, initiative in problem‑solving, teamwork mindset. - Willingness to learn and adapt to new standards and tools. Required Education & Certifications: - Undergraduate degree enrollment with a placement year, expected 2:2 grade level. - Right to work indefinitely in the country (no sponsorship needed). - Full driving licence (required for site visits). ---
