**Job Title**
Electronics Engineer – Contract (Underwater Robotics)
**Role Summary**
Provide end‑to‑end electronic design and development for underwater vehicle systems, ensuring innovative, reliable, and compliant solutions. Manage design lifecycle, lead technical projects, and collaborate across engineering, purchasing, operations, and sales to meet business objectives.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑quality, risk‑aware electronic designs that align with product and business goals.
- Lead and coordinate design projects, driving them from concept through end‑of‑life.
- Work independently or as part of multidisciplinary teams with minimal supervision.
- Maintain professional integrity, sound judgment, and effective time management.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, prototype, and validate electronics for underwater vehicles, including power conversion and high‑speed communication circuits.
- Execute full lifecycle design activities (concept, specification, design, validation, documentation, change management, end‑of‑life), applying LVD/EMC compliance requirements.
- Develop DC‑to‑DC converters, mixed‑signal circuits, microprocessor systems, and board‑level layouts.
- Implement interface buses and protocols such as I2C, SPI, RS‑485, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Define requirements specifications, test procedures, and conduct system‑level integration and testing.
- Direct and coordinate cross‑functional project activities, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Provide a “hands‑on”, can‑do approach to resolving design challenges.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in mixed‑signal PCB design, microprocessor system design, and board layout principles.
- Strong knowledge of DC‑to‑DC converters, power electronics, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, RS‑485, CAN, Ethernet).
- Experience with LVD/EMC design and compliance testing.
- Demonstrated ability to manage full‑lifecycle product development and change control.
- Solid project management skills, including team leadership and cross‑department coordination.
- Independent decision‑making, problem‑solving, and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Hands‑on design, prototyping, and testing skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent professional experience and education.
- Certifications in electronics design, PCB layout, or related fields are an advantage but not mandatory.
